Introduction

　　Established in 1991, the Department of Cardiology at Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital has developed into one of the leading cardiology centers in Shenzhen. The department focuses on precise interventional treatment for coronary artery disease and specializes in the management of acute myocardial infarction and critical cardiovascular diseases.

　　The department operates 4 outpatient consultation rooms and an independent DSA interventional catheterization room. It includes 2 inpatient wards and 1 intensive care unit, with a total of 80 beds. Equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tools such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), multi-lead cardiac electrophysiology systems, and coronary rotational atherectomy systems, the department provides comprehensive care for cardiovascular diseases. Subspecialties include coronary artery interventions, cardiac pacing and electrophysiology, structural heart disease, hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias. Annually, the department handles over 60,000 outpatient visits, 4,800 inpatient cases, and 1,400 surgeries, with 52% of procedures classified as Level III or IV.
